With our season pass in hand, we decided to visit every Six Flags we hadn’t been to yet, which meant we were heading across the country again. Here we go! We had a late start on day one so we only traveled a couple hours to get us on our way, we spent the night at Barstow/Calico KOA and walked over to DQ for some yummy dessert. Continuing along, we just had to visit the back side of Zion again, Kolob Canyon because it’s just that pretty to visit if you are in the area before continuing with our 500-mile day drive that landed us at a Love’s…

This was also the year Jacob was a 4th grader so he was the one able to get us into all the National Parks and he proudly showed the rangers his America the Beautiful card as we entered Zion, Badlands, Yosemite, Crater Lake, and Redwoods. We thought we could use it to enter Mount Rushmore but the park pass is not valid there. We also visited Crazy Horse Memorial, and the Black Hills this trip. Writing this now…

Trip Outline By the end of 2018, our family was just about fed up with hotel stay costs. Jessica was a dedicated synchronized swimmer with many competitions being out of state forcing us to take costly weekend trips. Because of this and because of our new found love for road trips, we began our quest for a home on wheels that would fit our family needs. We decided on a RV that was small enough to fit in our driveway and small enough to be our main mode of transportation around town. It also needed to be big enough for us to comfortably maneuver around it while on the road, and it needed to have actual bed sizes with minimal set up time. God Blessed us with our…

Trip outline I’m embarrassed to say that we have traveled across this country 5 times and have never visited the beauty we have in our own back yard until now. This summer we decided to stay local and visit Sequoia, Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, and Big Sur. What a wonderful trip this was, definitely a must try trip and I am about to tell you why. On day one, we made it all the way to Sequoia although we must have taken a wrong turn along the way because we ended up on a one lane dirt road, the internet went bye bye so we had no idea how far up or down we were from the main road. We contemplated turning around…

How it all started… our first family road trip
Come along for the ride Read time: 12 minutes 7 day trip- 8 destinations Trip outline Summer time in 1994, right before entering high school, I was invited to tag along on a road trip through the canyon that completely changed my life. Tia Edna is a traveler and this particular summer she wanted to revisit the beauties in Arizona, Nevada, and Utah. At this time, the furthest I’ve been in this country was Las Vegas so I was ready to see what else is out there. This particular trip we visited Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Las Vegas, and visited the Colorado River. This trip is when I fell in love with Nature, I still have very vivid memories from this trip and I vowed to someday take my own family there someday. I loved this trip so much that Tia Edna allowed me to…
